Recording CDs
There is a Smart and Friendly Deluxe 426 Internal 4X CD-RW drive
located on MASON and a Plexor Plexwriter 12/4/32 CD-RW on GLAZIER for
burning your own CDs. This can be done for local files as well as files
from another networked machine. There is not a CD burner attached MUTZU
however most CDs created on either MASON or GLAZIER can be read on the
Mac.
Some things to know before you start:
-
The correct speed rated CD-R Media
-
MASON - use 4X media
-
GLAZIER - use 12X media
-
If media is not rated at least at the speed of recording, there may be
errors in recording your disc.
-
You can lower the recording speed on the drive to match the media
-
CD-R media can only be written in one session.
-
If you don't fill up the disc you can not go back another time and
continue writing to it.
-
You may get around this by not closing the session. Documentation on
how to accomplish this is in the online help.
-
CD-RW media can only be read by CD-RW drives and some DVD
drives.
-
If you wish to make a disc that can be read on any standard CD-ROM
drive, use only CD-R media.
-
