CSB listservs discontinued

2007.11.26 -- CSB listserves have been discontinued. Yale provides mailing list facilities. See http://www.yale.edu/its/stc/lists/

Original documentation for CSB listserves

The CSB uses the Mailman list manager (or listserv) to maintain email lists for CSB computing and x-ray users. Available lists can be found at http://lists.core/mailman/admin. If you want to set up a new list, talk to the CSB computing staff. Installation and administration notes are at http://www.csb.core/sysadm/servers/mailman/mailman.html.

You can signup for any of the lists, using the links below. However, you must be on the CSB core network for these links to work.

When signing up, DO NOT use your core password, or any other secure password. Listserve passwords are kept in plaintext and are not secure. Choose a simple password -- you can use the same password for all lists to which you subscribe.

These lists have been established by the CSB staff, and are available to all CSB users.

The computing list is for notices and discussion of general computing issues in the CSB Core. Staff will post information on:
  • New or modified computers and other hardware
  • New programs or versions
  • Changes to practices and procedures

Users are invited to post comments, suggestions, and status reports of general interest. Questions or problem reports that are not of general interest should be addressed directly to the staff, or emailed to sysadm@mail.csb.yale.edu.
