If an oligomer, what is the buried surface area?

GRASP allows one to calculate and display the buried surface between protomers of an oligomeric macromolecule. Below is a figure showing the buried surface of the dimeric form of the the pyrococcus woesei TATA-binding protein. The upper portion of the image shows the dimeric structure as it exists in the crystal. In the lower portion of the figure the two monomers have been rotated so that the buried surface (green and red) are facing the viewer.
