Cambridge Structural Database

The CSD is available in the Chemistry Library. It is installed on workstation #6, located just to the right of the door as you enter the most southerly room.

You will need a Yale NETid to log on to the workstation. Log on, go to the Start/Programs menu, and select ConQuest.

After searching the database, you may want to save the results of your search. Insert the blank floppy disk that you brought with you (because you read this entire page before starting), select Save As from the File menu, and select the floppy disk as the destination.

If the floppy disk is not large enough, connect the USB-powered Zip drive that you brought with you to the front of the workstation, and save your file to that. Make sure to click the eject button in the lower right corner of the screen before removing and disconnecting the zip disk. The Core has a USB zip drive you may borrow for this purpose.

Make sure to log out of the workstation after you are done using it.
