HKL Administration in the CSB Core

Setting up HKL2000 on a host that's part of the Core cluster

2005.08.31 AJP Procedure for adding a new linux host.

1. Make all necessary links on new  host. As root:
      newhost$ chmod 777 /usr/local/bin
      newhost$ ln -s /usr/local/bin /usr/local/hklint
   as user:
      newhost> setup hkl csb

2. On newhost, generate licence information and email licence request:
   cd /srv/local/denzo/licences
   ../current/linux/access_prod < answers.std
   cat info | Mail -s "request licence for new workstatio" hkl@hkl-xray.com
   mv info yyyymmdd.$newhost.info

3. When the licences arrive (1-5 days) by email, save as text in
   /srv/local/denzo/licences/cr_info.yyyymmdd
   make link from /srv/local/denzo/cr_info to the new file. Then:
   newhost# ln -s /srv/local/denzo/cr_info /usr/local/lib/cr_info

Setting up HKL2000 on a standalone linux host

All of the HKL2000 programs must go in /usr/local/bin/. The list of programs is in /srv/local/setup/hkl/proglist, and the programs themselves are in srv/local/denzo/current.

The site directories and their files must also go in /usr/local/bin. They can be found in /srv/local/denzo/hklint. The list is in /srv/local/setup/hkl/synchrotronlist.

/srv/local/denzo/cr_info and /srv/local/denzo/hklint/anom.dat must be copied to /usr/local/bin.
