PATTERN is a program to plot a diffraction pattern from a dataset (any ascii format reflection file) as a postscript file. The picture is in the style of preccesion film. The black paint degree and radius of the spots is linearly correlated with log intensity. It is possible to plot any section. The user can give a spacegroup number or name or give a symmetry operation . The program may be used to:
To use PATTERN in the CSB core you must copy a command file to your working directory and edit it appropriately.
For a worked example, type the following;
cp /sgi/local/pattern/example/pattern.com .
source pattern.com
Wait a minute and the above diffraction pattern should appear on your screen in a ghostview window.
Edit the file, pattern.com, to suit your case.
