Raster3D Aniosotropic B Factor Display Example


This example uses residues 1- 7 from a 1.1 A Cytochrome c6 structure by G.M.Sheldrick (PDB code 1CTJ). The rastep and render applications are documented in detail in the Raster3D local docs.

To make an image similar to the one shown type:

rastep -prob 10 -fancy3 < 1ctj_1_7.pdb > rastep.r3d

Then edit the file rastep.r3d to get the orientation and size correct. (The rotation matrix was obtained from your favorite graphics program, and the translations (last line, first three values) and scale (last line, last value) were determined by trial and error). This step is not necessary if your PDB file had the desired oreintation.

Substitute (for example):

Then type:

render -sgi rastep.rgb < rastep.r3d

and your image file image.rgb can be manipulated by the image display applications available.
