Spock may be run in a non-graphics mode by invoking it with the command
line spock -ng. This allows spock to be run from any terminal, not
just ones with graphics hardware. After spock starts you'll be presented
with a prompt: spock> . Any command you can enter on the command
line of the graphics version is available here. There is also a command
menu that will put up the main menu (equivalent to the menu bar of
the graphics version). Thus, you can interactively use spock from a
text-only console if you like. Further, the nographics mode allows you to
use spock to do off-line batch-mode processing of history files. This can
be quite useful for detailed searches through the protein data bank with
spock.
