Synchrotron Data Storage (Very Temporary)

2007.11.15 -- /srv/sync/ has been deleted.

2007.10.04 /srv/sync/, a new 1_TB filesystem, will be available for temporary storage of raw image frames from synchrotorons.

Details of /srv/sync

Anyone with a Core computing account can create directories on and copy files to /srv/sync.
Only raw data files from area detectors are to be stored on /srv/sync. Files smaller than 1MB will be deleted every morning. When processing files on /srv/sync, make sure the output is directed to a more permanent filesystem.
Files on /srv/sync will not be backed up (by Core staff). If you have not done so already, you should make a DVD archive immediately after loading your images onto /srv/sync.
/srv/sync will disappear early on 2007.11.15.
/srv/sync will be available on selected Core workstations: emperor coot petrel plover albatross cormorant loon wigeon.
