Manual use of DVD robot

Suppose you have a DVD image (.iso file) you want to burn using the Rimage robot. You might want to do this because you want several copies, or because you want to print a label. This procedure should work from Core workstations.
  1. Prepare the label file. Easiest is to make a .jpg file that is 733 pixels on a side. Use your favorite drawing program. Give the file a suitable name, such as MyProject.jpg
  2. Clear a 214-pixel diameter disc in the center so you don't try to print over the DVD's hub:
mogrify -fill white -draw 'circle 366,366 259,366' MyProject.jpg

  3. Convert the label file to PDF:
            convert MyProject.jpg MyProject.pdf

  4. Copy the .iso and .pdf file:
            mkdir /csb/iso/0/$username
    	cp MyProject.jpg /csb/iso/0/$username
    	cp MyProject.iso /csb/iso/0/$username

  5. Prepare a file MyProject.xml describing the job. In the example, the things you would change include:
  6. Launch the job:
            alias burnit /srv/local/backup/BNL/2.1.0/burnDVD.py"
            burnit MyProject.xml
