Color Graphics Printing

An EPSON Stylus Color printer is installed next to csbgly for color graphics printing.

This printer will print on plain copier paper (360 dpi), special non-bleeding paper for medium quality (360 dpi), special coated paper for high quality (760 dpi), or special transparencies (360 dpi only).

In general, use plain copier paper at 360 dpi until you have your picture as you want it; please use the special paper or transparencies only for final copy.

Please see Pat Fleming for special paper or transparenies. (Do not use any other transparencies in the printer!)

Printing Guide

1. Install proper paper and slide both side and end sliders snug against paper. (Printable surface DOWN).

2. Turn on printer. (Please do not turn the printer on and off frequently. A cleaning cycle occurs each time and this wastes ink.)

3. From csbgly, launch the Icon Catalog from the Find button by choosing Control Panels. This allows you to click the Printing tab (at the bottom) and double click the PrintPanel icon.

4. Or, you my simply type PrintPanel in a UNIX window (this latter may be done from a remote terminal).

5. Highlight the Stylus printer in the list.

6. Choose More Options to set the dpi and other preferences. (Do not use 720 dpi with transparencies.)

7. Save the Options.

8. Enter the filename (full path) of your picture (rgb, ps, showcase) in the form box labeled Files to print: and click the Print button.
